The most recognized monument in Acsád is the Manor House of the Szegedy Family, which was built around 1790 in Baroque style. It received its present Classicist form in 1824 during a renovation by Ferenc Szegedy. The building and its Banquet Hall with its ornamental ceiling frescos and the sycamore alley in the park are national monuments. |

The Nadasdy or Schöller Mansion - built in 1811 - with two additional villas, stands in the centre of the town. The building can be reached both from Széchenyi Square and Fehér Street. The building, lying east-west, has an assymetrical layout. The main building stands in frontal position. The socalled Eperjesy Villa and another building used as a technical laboratory can be found in the backyard. An old park (1,6 hectar) with several hundred-yearold trees and other special species belongs also to the mansion. |

The settlement was created by the union of Nagygencs and Gyöngyösapáti in 1950. The Manor in the village was first owned by the Nákó, Bertha and later the Széchenyi families. At the end of the 19th century Albert Apponyi purchased the building and renovated it in eclectic style. The establishment of the Manor Park - a national reserve since 1980 - can be dated to the early 19th century, when the manor was built as well.

The Baroque, 17th-century manor was last remodelled in Classicist style in 1815. The festoon in the tympanum above the entrance frames a fragmented coat-of-arms. In the 20th century, the manor was expanded in modern style. Today, a T. B.-Sanatorium works inside the building. |

The settlement was received by the Rumy family from King Andrew III in 1299. Countess Maria Széchenyi became its owner around 1525. The present manor building was developed from the ancient castle of the Rumy family. The originally one-storey Classicist building was remodelled by the Széchenyi family. Its present appearance is Romantic Neo-gothic. The Széchenyi Manor (43), declared as national monument (today a student dormitory), accepts domestic and international guests throughout the summer.

The New-Ebergényi Manor was built in the so-called Copf-style in 1790. The manor stands in a huge naturally landscaped park. After World War II, it was used as a warehouse, house block and a stable. It was to be demolished in 1981. It was eventually saved by the Manor Park Program of Vas County. At the moment both manors function as hotels.

The settlement is likely to have been inhabited as early as at the Roman age. Before the Hungarian Invasion, Slavic people must have inhabited it. The place was good to be fortified and the forks of the Gyögyös Creek made more significant defence possible. The main sights in the village are the manors. The Old-Ebergényi Manor was built after the Rákóczi War of Independence took the place of an older 14th-century fortress. The places of the bulwarks are still detectable in the park. The present Baroque form of the manor was created during the 17-18th centuries.

The Valley of the Sorok Creek was already inhabited by the Romans: this fact is supported by the remains of the Roman Villa excavated there. Its main sight is the medieval Bezerédy Mansion standing in the middle of a well-maintained park, which operates as a temporary home for creative artists. The manor was remodelled several times. The Sennyei Family had a two-storey Renaissance Castle built in the 18th century along the Rába River, which forms the middle part of the present manor. In 1780 Antal Sennyei expanded it into a three-storey building in Baroque style. |
